pumpkins, doctors, and cows

Just catching up, folks! We had fun at the pumpkin patch farm with the cow train a couple weekends ago. Margaret wouldn't behave for a picture but I still added the only shot of both girls on pumpkins.

The last picture was a really funny story.  Virginia had a terrible cold and spiked a fever so I decided to take her to urgent care to make sure she didn't have an ear infection.  I knew I was in trouble when I asked the lady at the desk if they saw "peds" and she didn't know what I was talking about. When I found out that they did, in fact, see pediatric patients I saw a sign with the doctor's name and specialty.  Occupational medicine was not what I had in mind for my 7 month old!  He said, she looks fine, but she's "too small to look in her throat." "I think her ears look o.k."  Not very reassuring but he was so sweet I couldn't say anything! He was so enamored with Virginia that he took her around the office and even took her to the computers to print his lame discharge instructions.  Funny waste of a co-pay!! Oh, did I mention that the receptionist was a former patient who kept looking at me telling me that I "looked so familiar?" It was too much!
